📝 Terms & Conditions for Booking Counseling Services

1. Who Can Book Services

  • Clients must be 18 years or older (or have written parental consent).

  • Services are available only to individuals residing in Michigan, where I am licensed to practice.

2. What I Offer

  • I provide individual and couples counseling for concerns such as anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship stress, and more.

  • These services are not for emergency or crisis situations. If you're in immediate danger or distress, call 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

3. Confidentiality & Privacy

  • Your sessions are confidential and HIPAA-compliant.

  • Legal exceptions to confidentiality include:

    • Threats of harm to self or others

    • Suspected child or elder abuse

    • Legal subpoenas or court orders

4. Scheduling, Cancellation & No-Shows

  • Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Repeated no-shows may result in discontinuation of services.

5. Payment Policies

  • Payment is due at the time of service.

  • I accept self-pay and may accept insurance; clients are responsible for confirming coverage.

  • If insurance denies a claim, clients are responsible for the full session fee.

6. Telehealth Sessions

  • Telehealth is offered through secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms.

  • Please ensure a private space and a stable internet connection for your session.

  • If technical issues arise, I will work with you to reschedule.

7. Non-Urgent Communication

  • You may contact me via email or secure messaging for non-urgent matters.

  • I do not provide crisis communication. I typically respond within 24–48 business hours.

8. Informed Consent

  • By booking, you agree to participate in counseling voluntarily and understand that outcomes are not guaranteed.

  • Counseling is a process that requires your active participation.

9. Right to Decline or End Services

  • I reserve the right to refer clients elsewhere if needs are outside my scope or if boundaries are violated.

10. Disclaimer

  • Counseling is not a substitute for medical, legal, or emergency care.

  • Booking an appointment does not constitute an emergency relationship.
